Heaven's Maid Sales Site & Blog

Main Portal and Profile
-
The main portal still has the CTA. All nav features have been consolidated into the three icons at the bottom: add loved one, notifications, and profile.
-
I was experimenting with different ways to display information from a person's profile. This was difficult because of the limited screen space of a smartphone.
-
Post icon for convenience: I was thinking about having the new post feature fixed so when users are scrolling down and reading other posts, they can easily add their own.
-
Perhaps too colorful. There is a lot of purple that ultimately detracts from each other. I feel that I should have chosen more neutral tones.

Mobile App Design Goals
-
Legibility. In my opinion, legibility is the most important thing when designing a mobile app. Users should be able to read things clearly and concisely.
-
Functionality. Are all the most important features of Heaven's Maid available?
-
Efficiency. Time is valuable. Users on their phones don't want to waste time. I set out to make everything as easily accessible as possible.

Main Portal
-
Clean and simple. Neutral tones, only using purple for the logo and CTAs.
-
Profile icon that allowed users to edit their account info
-
Bell Icon to notify users of any new updates
-
When first signed on, there is a prompt to search for a loved one. This ensures that the user isn't confused as to why they don't have full access to all features initially.
Searching

-
This is where the user will search for the cemetery where their loved one is buried.
-
Once the cemetery is selected, they will be brought to a portal where they search by name for the one they're looking for.
-
Fullscreen with little text. Emphasizes on the search function
-
Results slide in from the bottom
Web App Design Goals
-
Provide a straightforward design. All the main features need to be accessible and the labels need to make sense for the user. No unnecessary searching for functions.
-
Maintain a neutral tone. Keeping in mind that the majority of the users have lost a dear one, it was crucial to relay messages or CTAs that were not too pushy or lighthearted. It was important that we retain a strong sense of formality.
-
Map out possible interactions. There were may possibilities of a user running into a dead end when going down one of many roads of interactions. It was my goal to map out where a specific interaction brought a user, and how they could get out of that situation to provide an experience with little hindrances.

Heaven's Maid
Heaven's Maid is a web app that allows its users to purchase perpetual care services for their loved ones in cemeteries. This is a tool that connects people to each other, such as family members, who shared a relationship with a deceased one.
I was a Design Intern and helped create web and mobile mockups detailing possible interactions for their web app, future mobile app, sales site, and blog site. I worked with another design intern, and was supervised by the product managers of the startup.
